Construction Industry Quality Assurance (CIQA) Ltd has been providing quality assurance to BS EN ISO 9001:2000 since our founding in 2002. It is our intention to promote the adoption and use of an effective quality management system within the construction industry to SME’s at a realistic cost. We believe the best way to achieve this goal is to offer certification from a UKAS registered body by providing a group scheme that can be easily used by any construction professional, whether they are a surveyor, architect, engineer or contractor.

We have recently received accreditation for our Group Environmental Management Scheme to BS EN ISO 14001:2004 and are now able to offer three Group Schemes: 9001: 2000, 14001:2004 and integrated 9001/14001.

Company

The company was originally set up in 2002, but changed its name to CIQA in 2004  We believe that this name better reflects the activities of our company.

Our Staff

Ann Cowap is a Director of CIQA and the Group Quality Manager. Ann has been involved in the administrative field for a number of years.

Bill Cowap has also been a Director since 2002 and provides much of the technical expertise. He has a good working knowledge of the construction industry having originally qualified as a Quantity Surveyor. He has worked for large and small contractors running his own business as a building surveyor before moving into quality assurance.  Bill has also been Vice President of the Architecture and Surveying Institute and the CIOB.

In early 2005 Ian Norris became a Director of the company. Ian qualified as an architect and has worked for local government and in private practice. He became Chief Executive of the Architecture and Surveying Institute before joining CIQA in 2004.  Ian is a trained internal auditor and undertakes training for members as well as seminars and CPD sessions.

Alison Seymour is the Scheme Co-Ordinator and will be your first point of contact.
